Website Performance Test
Many small business owners today have been told that your business ‘must have a website’. Are you one of them? If you are reading this, then we bet that you are! And we also have an inkling that you spent very good money on getting that website designed. And we bet it looks pretty good as well.
But a website is useless if its not converting into sales or leads for you. As each day passes, your website is probably being pushed down the rankings. You will be seeing less and less of a ‘return on investment’, and you are left wondering why you even spent that money in the first place.
Well… you are not alone.
Read this from the US government of all companies!
“Every day, millions of people are trying to get something done on the web, and most of them start by using a search engine. The reality is that many people arrive at our government websites—not by typing in the URL of our agency websites—but by using a commercial search engine (like Google, Yahoo, MSN, and others). So, are you optimizing your website so these millions of people can find your content?”
So, how is your website?
What is your website doing for your business? Is it simply the equivalent of an online brochure which just sits somewhere out there in cyberspace? Or is your website an effective tool which drives people to your business on a daily basis? Is it a tool that works FOR you? A fully optimised website should be working for you, generating traffic and exposure to your business.
If its not, then you have website in trouble, and you have thrown away your initial investment.
How can you check your Return on Investment (ROI)?
Here are a few really quick checks we recommend:
Website Traffic
Do you know how to check your traffic? If so, get in your ‘admin’ panel, or google analytics and check how many visitors you are getting to your website per day. Do you feel you are getting enough people viewing your site?
Search Engine Ranking
Go into google and type words specific to your website. If you are an electrician in Brighton, type in ‘electrician brighton’ and see what happens. Can you even find your website?
A high ranking in the search engines (such as google, yahoo and bing) is essential to getting the most out of your website. High rankings in Google means more what we call ‘organic traffic’… organic traffic is FREE traffic. No paying for advertisements in the likes of the yello pages anymore if you can top the search engines for your relevant phrase.
Good SEO (search engine optimisation) provides a website with endless free advertising.
Website ROI
We have to ask you – are you getting value for money on your website investment? How is your ROI?
If you are annoyed, frustrated and wanting more from your site, then we can help.
Its what we do… every day.
